Hair Transplant Recovery

You have undergone a Hair Transplant Surgery and now walking through the recovery process. Expect some crusting and scabbing on the transplanted region. Your donor area will heal and grow hair as per normal after 2 weeks. You will be called in on day 2 and day 3 for follow-ups where the surgical region will be assessed and given a wash. These close follow-ups will carry on for a monthly basis for the next 12 to 14 months until full hair growth results are achieved. As informed to your good self before the surgery, you will need to abide by the strict daily medication protocols for a year or more. These medications are prescribed by the doctor and must be strictly followed with no break in the daily chain. Any side effects must be informed to your doctor although the chances of side effects are low. The doctor will be able to adjust your medication protocols tailored due to your side effects.

Will I experience discomfort and pain during sleep?

This is well managed by pain killers and the sleeping position will be advised to your good self.

When can I resume my activities?

You are advised to avoid strenuous activities for the next 3 days after the surgery, after which you can resume all your activities except swimming and wearing of helmet. You can resume your swimming and wearing of helmet after 10 days of your surgery.

What would be the downtime after surgery?

Downtime as in the healing of the region would take 7 to 10 days. However, your daily routine would not be affected.

When will I see the results?

This is the golden question, one must be very patient. Results will start showing after the 4th month. 80% of the results will show after 9 months and then gradually becomes 100% within the 12th to the 14th month.
